Jake and Roxanne were sat next to each other during their first social studies class of 7th grade in September 2002 because they were the shortest boy and shortest girl in the class. They were fast friends and despite Jake’s proclamation that they would likely lose touch once they started at their different Queens high schools, they remained close friends and eventually started dating in April 2007.
Their relationship has persevered 14 years through long-distance collegiate studies, multiple overseas excursions (both together and apart), many disappointing sporting events, and a global pandemic. The culmination of this eventful journey will be in June 2021 when they marry in Lower Manhattan.
